Archpriest Andrei Ivanovich Drugai, the rector of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Krasnodar. Rev. Drugai refused to read the On Holy Rus’ prayer and spoke out in support of Archpriest Alexei Uminsky.
On 18 April 2024, he was summoned to the church court of the Ekaterinodar and Kuban eparchy accused of violating church discipline. The priest left the eparchy and did not appear at the court hearing on 4 June 2024. The court banned him from ministry until his return to the eparchy.
The priest announced from the pulpit to the parishioners that the reason for leaving the parish was disagreement with the position of the Russian Orthodox Church and the Patriarch regarding military actions in Ukraine.
