Konstantin Kokora, a cleric of the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Mitino, Moscow, held the position of coordinator for Sunday schools in the Northwest Vicariate of Moscow. He is also known for various appearances on Christian topics in the media, particularly on the radio stations “Vera” and “Theos,” and the “Soyuz” television channel.
The priest refused to read the “Prayer for Holy Rus’”—which includes appeals for the “victory” of the Russian army over Ukraine—during the Divine Liturgy.
On 15 October 2024, by order of Patriarch Kirill, he was banned from serving as a priest for three years. The decree noted that the priest violated the 25th Apostolic Canon, specifically accusing him of “perjury.”
