Andrei Latyshevich
Andrei Latyshevich is an Evangelical Christian from Minsk and the husband of Varvara Latyshevich. Together with his wife, he was involved in the activities of the Belarusian charitable public association “With Love to Children,” which provided assistance to orphans, children with disabilities, and other socially vulnerable groups.
In March 2026, Andrei Latyshevich was detained in Moscow, subsequently extradited to Belarus, and remanded in custody.
According to available information, the persecution of the couple is connected with their activities assisting residents of Ukrainian territories occupied by Russia, including children. Andrei Latyshevich may face charges of organising illegal migration.
On 30 June 2026, Belarusian human rights organisations recognised Andrei Latyshevich as a political prisoner.
He is being held in Pre-Trial Detention Centre No. 7 in Brest.
